10 years it is!

It seems like it was just the other day when Lamplighter School was founded in the sleepy village of Kibagenge. A handful of parents trusting to bring their children to a school that was still just a concept, with a few iron sheet buildings littering the vast compound of the school. And our bedrooms at home being used as a boarding facility by the pioneer students.

Six years down the line and the first batch of candidates sat for their KCPE, putting the school on the national map. A trend that has carried on for 4 years now. Lamplighter, lighting the future of children whose parents believed in the vision holders’ concept, has sprung into a fully-fledged Centre of excellence.

Ten years later and the pioneers of the school are still lighting the lamp of their Alma Mater, having had a solid foundation laid in the forging of their future.

Ten years later and the school is receiving students, traveling in from all parts of the country to experience a piece of the Lamplighter legacy.

Ten years later, state of the art buildings have replaced the few scattered iron sheet structures, translating to a beautiful reality a dream borne of Mr. and Mrs. Keter.

Ten years of hard work, sweat, tears, and love by the founders, directors and staff of the Lamplighter School to ensure that the school retains the niche that it had curved as a place where excellence lives and breeds.

As we cross onto the next decade, May the light of the Lord keep shining unto the school. May the hard work of all the teachers and non-teaching staff be rewarded by He who has made all these come to pass. And may the students that have passed through this corridors, and the ones whose cheer and laughter still echo through the classroom walls be the Lamplighters that this world is so desperately deprived of.

And may God continue to bless the vision holders, whose dream of transforming the education sector in the country, has become a source of knowledge, and livelihood to tens of hundreds of people.

Here is to another 10 years!!!
