Message from the Pioneer Parents

As a pioneer parent, I am delighted to take this chance to commemorate the success story of the Lamplighter School in the pursuit of excellence of our children’s education and to be a witness of its remarkable achievement since its inception.

I got involved with the affairs of the school at its dawn, having two children, Nadia and Victor, among the pioneer pupils of the Lamplighter School. The pioneer parents acknowledge that the school was started to meet an area of need around the locality, as they were not fully served before. Lamplighter has provided an environment where the pupils can learn, discover and maximize their potentials into being holistic individuals through effective teaching and guidance.

We experienced inclusiveness in the school which with time has been perfected. My family is filled with thanksgiving to God and ceaseless appreciation to LLS for the individualized support given to our children. Our special child was greatly encouraged and homely taken care of as our academically talented one pushed to her potential. In her 2014 examination, Nadia emerged as the best performing girl in Trans Nzoia County with 432 Marks, a record that still stands in LLS to date. This saw her placement to a National School, Alliance Girls where she exited with a resounding A score.

The feeding program, as professionally guided by the Assistant Director with many years’ experience in catering, is well thought through and nutritive, giving my children a homely nostalgic experience.

Lamplighter School ideally started from scratch but nevertheless was able, through passionate Directors and qualified teachers, to lay a solid foundation for learning that enabled our children eventually lead fulfilling lives in their higher institutions of learning and achieving excellence. Being an enthusiastic and devoted educationist, the Directors have led by example in persistency, consistency and have shown unrelenting effort in expanding the school’s infrastructure. An effort which has borne fruit and received recognition and appreciation by the parents and sundry stakeholders.

It is worth noticing that LLS has no short cut to professional approach to issues. Since its early days to date, the school has had a balance between academics and co-curricula activities as well as spiritual, intellectual and physical pursuit. As a pioneer parent, I can attest that even during my first year in school, my children were aggressively involved in scouting activities among others.

At a glance, the school community’s happiness index has gradually gone up due to the school’s non-discrimination policy on the employment of both non-teaching staff and teachers. We are specially thanking the teaching staff lead by the Head Teacher, for the crucial role they played in the holistic development of our children as well as the non-teaching staff. The school puts great emphasis on the spiritual growth of the pupils as witnessed through the proactive participation of its Directors.

As a whole, Lamplighter School has been an exemplary role model in the locality, County and even Nationally. It is still as spirited and energetic as it was ten years ago. We are proud to be associated with Lamplighter School as pioneer parents whose children have scaled the heights of education.
