With its motto,’ Light to Excellence‘ the institution has continued to light the community, county and the country at large since its inception ten years ago. Indeed, it has been a center of excellence. With its open door policy, the institution has excelled in the following areas;

1. Academics

We have seen tremendous improvement in KCPE exams as the school continues to be recognized at county and national levels. The mean grade has continued to improve and we have seen and increase in the number of pupils who score the four hundred marks and above. Many pupils have secured good schools both locally and internationally. The contact hours with the pupils is good due to boarding facilities and the teacher-pupil ratio meet the required standards. Over the years, LLS has continued to attract qualified and well motivated members of staff. With the continually improving infrastructure, we have spacious classrooms that are well ventilated for better learning. Additionally, we now have sufficient teaching-learning aids and materials.

2. Staff Recruitment

Under the able leadership of the Chairman of the Board of Management, Mr Christopher Sang, the recruitment of both teaching and non-teaching staff is thorough and purely on merit.

3. Alumni

Our pupils have continued to post excellent grades in their KCSE examinations, a clear indication that their foundation was well laid at LLS. In 2015, 2 of our best performing were invited to State House for the Presidential Award Scheme (PURES Program). This was a real honour to the school. The LLS children are not vessels to be filled but lamps to be lit.

4. School Programme

The pupils are engaged in co-curricula activities, sports, games, music festivals and educational school trips. These enhances experiential learning for the pupils as their skills and talents are exposed. Particularly, I would like to mention the spiritual guidance the learners continue to receive while in school. The students attend Sunday mass at the nearby parish and many are involved in serving at this student’s mass. The school also has a bi-weekly mass during the assembly and as a result the pupils are God fearing. Parents supplement by offering parental guidance.

5. Meals

‘You are what you eat’. The balanced diet from the school farm’s fresh produce is what keeps the pupils healthy and strong ready to unleash their potential. This also enhances their concentration ability.

6. Facilities

Over this 10 years, improvement of infrastructure has been on top gear with the recent completion of the 2 tuition blocks. Plans are underway the construction of a swimming pool; improvement of boarding facilities; inclusion of E-learning through use of smart boards; introduction of an E- library, development of a modified kindergarten section; and exchange programmes both locally and internationally.

It is our hope and prayer that LLS will continue to shine beyond its borders. We urge all stakeholders to join hands and make LLS to be a one stop institution because it is the best place to be. Remember a school is a building with tomorrow inside.
